RAM Case Study - MTH
Overview
Based in Hillside, IL, MTH Industries is one of the leading architectural glass, metal and
ornamental iron firms in the United States. The company began as Tyler & Hippach back in
1886 in Chicago. The company furnished and installed much of the glass on many of Chicago’s
first skyscrapers. During their proud history, MTH has taken on land mark projects for the United
Airlines Terminal, Lucent Technologies and Arlington Park Race Track.
RAM Communications has been proud to provide telecommunications support for MTH since
1999. RAM has provided underlying carrier services, moved and tested equipment and provided
billing and contract reviews.
Challenge
In one particular case, MTH needed assistance with their corporate cellular plan. RAM was
asked to analyze costs and contracts. RAM had to analyze usage patterns and determine which
phones were worth keeping and which ones could be safely cancelled. MTH was satisfied with the
performance of their cellular services. Ultimately, management wanted to find the best plan
available without changing providers.
Once the customer needs were understood, RAM worked closely with their cellular provider to
evaluate several new package offerings.
Solution
RAM provided a documented audit of each user phone, minutes used and individual overages.
This evaluation provided a clear understanding of where MTH could save money and maximize
minutes. The audit clearly demonstrated which package would work best for their adjusted needs.
RAM also provided the quality control. It took two billing cycles to ensure the new contract rates
were posted properly on the customer bills. During this time, RAM requested and tracked all
necessary credits on behalf of the customer -saving A/P staff the time and aggravation of such
tasks. Hiring RAM resulted in better results and lower labor costs.
