In this video we review Poly’s latest series of IP phones Poly was formerly Polycom. Poly is currently owned by HP. Luckily their R&D department is still developing and supporting business desk phones Those of you who depend on desk phones especially our retail friends will find a few interesting items here.
First, there’s now a model 550 which is really called an E550. The smaller one is the E 350. Both of these phones have a multi- screen display menu that uses a toggle switch. So in other words, I can have a set of BLFs or speed dials on one page I can press this toggle button in the lower right hand corner and bring up more buttons displayed on pages 2 and 3. So, I can avoid the expense of an additional sidecar by using the pages to list additional extensions or again speed dials. The toggle button function is available on both the 550 and 350 models. Once again, we’re using soft keys like we have with the last few generations of Poly phones.
I’ve got a number of ways that I can dial an outside party. I can use the speaker button or I can lift the handset and dial. My cursor comes up in the upper righthand side of the display. I don’t need a nine or an eight or an even one with these dialing plans. I just dial my area code and phone number. If you have any questions let us know you know.
